My Final Project

Hello, I'm Christian Novis and this is my final project about my last year studying in Globalia, and I guess it will also be the last post of this blog. After two years of hard work, it's time to say goodbye to this course. Now we have to enjoy a new adventure, our two years of practice as helpers to get our B1.1 license. This license will allow us to sign maintenance tasks on aircraft. However, our training is not over yet. After these two years of practice, we will have to return to study to approve the specific type of aircraft courses. In our case, these specific aircraft are such as the Boeing 737, Airbus 330, Boeing 787 or Embraer ERJ 190; since these are the planes that Air Europa operates. We have many possibilities in this sector and that is why it is sometimes difficult to talk about very future events. Not only I mean as an aeromechanical maintenance engineer, we can belong to the same sector but in a different profession as pilots, TCPs, etc.

Hello and welcome to my 17th post about my year in Globalia. This post is a mix with the 17th & 18th weeks because they were very short. In the first week, we finished with Fire Protection classes, ATA 26, and then we started with Human Factors with our instructor Luís Miguel. In the second week, we continue with the Human Factors classes and they are very entertaining due to the interest that the instructor gives him. In the practices, we tested the shock absorber of the Piper Seneca and the De-ice boots of the Turbocommander. After that, Rafa and I clean a large spot of hydraulics for the jacks that hold the Turbo Commander. We use acetone and gasoline to remove the stain. In these two weeks I studied a lot for the exam on February 4 th. Unfortunately, I failed for two bad questions. It's a shame but at least it does not affect that I can not perform the FCTs. Meanwhile, my soccer team is still working in this complicated league. We have starte

Hi there and welcome to my 16th post, the 2nd in 2019 . This week has been very complete in the theoretical part. We finished ATA 21, Air Conditioning, and our instructor Jaime helped us by reviewing the ATA 32, Landing Gear. Unfortunately, this ATA was very difficult for us since we did not know what they could ask in the exam. Then, we started ATA 38, Water & Waste, which was quite easy and short, although a bit dirty for the "Waste" part. And finally, we started the ATA 26 with Fernando, Fire Protection. Their classes become boring although this ATA does not seem to have much complication. In practice, we could say that it was a very complete week as well. We started by changing a wheel of the Turbocommander, on the left landing gear, and a cleaning/lubrication of the structure and the brake. After that, we tested the windshield and its electrical system. We used an external battery (24 V DC) to power the plane and through the buttons

Hello and welcome again to my blog. This is my 15th post and the first post in 2019 . After Christmas and so much rest, it's time to go back to school. This post is about the first week back to the routine, which has not been easy but has gone fast. In the theoretical classes, we began to study the ATA 21, Air Conditioning. This ATA has been simple and it has been very clear to me thanks to the teacher. Meanwhile in the practical classes, we have made several repairs with different systems. First with the ATA 30, Protection against the ice (Anti-ice & De-ice), and in this case in the engine of the Turbocommander. This repair has been on a system valve, which is responsible for allowing the system to work or stop working. After this first practice, we made a change of wheel in one of the Turbocommander's landing gear. It was very simple to do since we only raised the landing gear a little with the help of a jack and then we lubricated the system and the bearings. Howeve

Hi there, welcome to my last blog about my year in Globalia in 2018. This week was lighter than the previous because the holidays are near. In addition, we have finished the lessons about ATA 25 and the practices of the Corrosion. We have not done anything that could be more interesting. I did it for the third time the exam of Module 8: Aerodynamics, although I couldn't pass it. On Thursday, the students of CF18 & CF19 eat together for the last day in Globalia. And on Friday, we sang in Son Pacs an epic cover of "I want to break free", a beautiful Queen's song.                                 On the previous week end, I had the pleasure to travel to Liverpool. I went with three friends to visit the city and visited the most iconic as the center, the Cavern Club (the first place where The Beatles played), the statue of John Lennon, etc. We also saw other cities like Harrogate, Bradford and, of course, Manchester. It was very fun and we could see many th
