My AeroWeek #16
Hi there and welcome to my 16th post, the 2nd in 2019. This week has been very complete in the theoretical part. We finished ATA 21, Air Conditioning, and our instructor Jaime helped us by reviewing the ATA 32, Landing Gear. Unfortunately, this ATA was very difficult for us since we did not know what they could ask in the exam. Then, we started ATA 38, Water & Waste, which was quite easy and short, although a bit dirty for the "Waste" part. And finally, we started the ATA 26 with Fernando, Fire Protection. Their classes become boring although this ATA does not seem to have much complication.
In practice, we could say that it was a very complete week as well. We started by changing a wheel of the Turbocommander, on the left landing gear, and a cleaning/lubrication of the structure and the brake. After that, we tested the windshield and its electrical system. We used an external battery (24 V DC) to power the plane and through the buttons of the cockpit system we were controlling the windshield. In addition, we could see the simulator passengers cabin. This simulator was made for the formation of the flight attendants. We could see the galleys, the baths, the seats and lot of things about several ATAs.
In addition and without a doubt, the best thing of the week was to be able to visit the Globalia hangar for the second time. This time there was not a Boeing 737, but a Boeing 787 and an Airbus 320. The B787 was replacing one of its Rolls Royce engines, while the A320 was in overhaul, a more thorough review. It should be noted that this time we were accompanied by students from the Baccalaureate of Son Pacs and some teachers.
As you can see, it has been a very busy week and it has gone by very quickly. I hope you have entertained and liked this post. Thank you very much and see you soon.
