My AeroWeek #5

Good morning and welcome to my blog. This is my 5th post about my year in Globalia. This week was so interesting because we finished the practices with the Hydraulic System. How we had lessons few week ago about ATA 24 and ATA 33, Electrical Power and Lights, we started the practices about them. Fortunately, we could visit the Boeing 737's simulator and could start up several systems. For example, we were able to start up the batteries, the engines, the APU, Hydraulic and Fuel Pumps. We could test the lights of the aircraft and the generators of the engine too. Now I am in a new group to the next practices about these ATAs and I think that it's a fantastic group. This group is formed for Francisco, Chachito (Álvaro Bolaños), Lewis Guaman and Me. However, everything isn't good. I had to repeat a task of FOL. Good morning and welcome to my blog. This is my 4th post about my year in Globalia. This week we worked again with the Hydraulic System. We finished the practice of the Piper Seneca and the Hydraulic Pump test. After this practice, we went back to the Turbocommander, but this time we made a practice of the Reservoir. In the Hydraulic System, the Reservoir has the function to storage the fluid, in this system the Hydraulic fluid. In this practice, we removed and installed the Reservoir. The Turbocommander is a small aircraft and work inside is so difficult. You haven't got space to work comfortable. I made the installation of the Reservoir and connected all the pipes and connectors of the system. At first it was overwhelming to be there inside, but in the end you get used to it and you do your job. Hello, welcome to this third post of my blog about my year in Globalia. This week we worked again doing repairs on the hydraulic system of the Turbocommander. This week we have finished the practice of the auxiliary hydraulic pump. After that, we started the practice with other aircraft, the Piper Seneca. We measured the hydraulic level of the system and jacked the plane. We jacked the plane because we need to make the test of the hydraulic pump and see if the Landing Gear could retract and extend. By using a portable power supply we can apply voltage to the plane to make the pump test. Unfortunately, the pump is not operative and the Landing Gear couldn't retract and extend because without high hydraulic pressure it's impossible its operation. In addition, we put sealant to the rubber of a register so that it closed properly. Meanwhile, in the soccer team we had two games. Hello, welcome to this second post of my blog about my year in Globalia. We worked hard doing repairs on the hydraulic system of the Turbocommander. Specifically, we removed, tested and installed the Hydraulic Shut Off Valve of Turbocommander number 1 engine. This type of valve is basically responsible for cutting off the supply in case of emergency or that is not necessary for the engine. In this practice, I climbed on top of the wing to remove the valve and Dani helped me with the tools to use. We wrote the written part together reviewing aircraft maintenance manuals. After finishing the practice of the Hydraulic Shut Off Valve, we started working with the auxiliary hydraulic pump. We had to uninstall and do some tests to check if it is serviceable. And finally, we installed the pump so that the next group could do the practice as soon as possible.
